The
HUBBARD Family of Plumtree, Nottinghamshire
The family name
derives from King Hubba, a Danish conqueror who raided East
Anglia in the C9th century, probably a locational name from one
of the many towns of the time named Hubbard. Even today
(2000-2005 data), the majority of bearers of the name reside
within the old Dane law.
