The family name comes from the town of Baldock in Hertfordshire which was founded by the Knights Templar in the C12th, and named after the Old French for Baghdad.
John BALDOCK (1554-1617) & Isabella SHEILAY (1553-1622) both of Plumtree, Notts., (my 10xGGPs). Married on 4.12.1574 and had the following children at Plumtree:
Richard BALDOCK (1580-1644) & Ann SEYWELL (1590-1640) both of Plumtree (my 9xGGPs) married 27.11.1611 and had the following children at Plumtree:
John BALDOCK (1614-78) = (1) Anne HARVEY (d. by 1641), m. 31.1.1632 Plumtree; = (2) Ursula HUBBARD (1619-74) all of Plumtree (my 8xGGPs) married at Colston Bassett, Notts., on 7.5.1642. Their children at Plumtree were:
